This week in class we continued to work on rhetorically analyzing texts. I've come to realize I have a little trouble when conducting one alone, versus doing them collaboratively with others. I find myself putting a lot of the information in the same categories. I also feel like I'm not pulling enough info out of the text. I don't know.. maybe I am. I just know that when i compare my class rhetorical analysis it wasn't as good as when I did my own. Im obviously not grasping the full concept of a rhetorical analysis. Professor Mangini says he wants it to "become second nature". I can understand why he feels tat way because it's a really interesting skill to have. To be able to look at something on tv and know what the author or creator wants you to gain out of the text. It's the ability to see the bias in the media and the lack of credibility they really have, I feel it's an important skill to have. That's why it's important for me to understand it fully. We have to to start finding topics for our I-Search Paper and nothing has peaked my interest yet. Being able to rhetorically analyze would really help me when doing my paper. It's the reason Professor wants us to grasp it. Im working on it and I know I'll eventually get. I Won't beat myself up about it, Professor says I need to lay off myself a little. Also this week Professor talked about how he wanted us to engage in each others blog posts more. Leave comments, spark up debates, and support each others work. The two posts that I chose to review were Hyunjae Kim AND Alexann Brown. I chose Alexann's because we both decided to do the same text and shared similar views in the text. I chose Hyunjae's 's because she chose a clip that I would have never chosen do to my lack of knowledge on the subject. I was really intrigued by her analysis and the way the text opened my eyes and raised questions, very interesting topic.
Personal Reflection
This week at home things have been heated between Caesar and I. Caesar has been very busy this week he knocked over my entire trash can and ate any open food. He also decided he would chew up a plastic wrapper and then vomit all in the living room. Then he takes a huge poop right in front of the vent. All of these things were due to the fact that things weren't done when Caesar wanted them done. Due to Riq not taking the trash out caesar took it as an opportunity to help himself to everything we ate via the trash. Which then allowed caesar to eat the wrapper and cause him to vomit all over. The poop incident was due to the fact that Riq never puts enough kitty litter in Caesar's kitty box so he needs to be cleaned more often because Caesar doesn't like it dirty. So because of all of these confrontations between Caesar and I we haven't been on good terms. I feel my patience for all the frustration Caesar causes me is running out. The lack of cooperation and lack of respect is driving me crazy. HE'S CRAZY!! I want everyone who reads my blog to know the true characteristics of Caesar's breed so you all know the research I conducted when cat hunting 16 months ago. Birman Cat
